The legend of the koi that became a dragon is a famous one; a story of ambition & strength, that you aren't limited by your short comings. It's meant to inspire, & it inspired one such boy. A small boy, orphaned at a young age by a war that took so many. For most of his life it was just him & his older sister, eight years his senior, who cared for him like a mother would. He saw her as such, respected & cared for her like one throughout his life. She worked so hard to keep them alive. Ended up working herself sick, but worked still. She deserved a break, & the boy told himself everyday that he would give her one as soon as he could. & she told him not to rush, he should be a child while he can, & not to worry until he could make an honest living. But Ryouta was no different from other children at his age.It wasn't long after he turned 18 that joined the Sasai clan. Disappointed his sister, though she couldn't complain anymore from her bed ridden position. Even though he was fresh into the game, he was better than most he worked with. He earned the favor of the clan's patriarch quickly, trusted him with a lot. Got himself a family by 23. Such a young patriarch, caught the attention of so many. Some annoyed, equated his hard work to kissing up & luck. Some were impressed; like one such woman who had an ambition that rivaled his own. Ryouta & Mikazuki both saw something in each other & clung hard from the moment they met.It only took the two six months to be married. They were a team, she was his righthand man in every sense of the term, & they were more successful together than other subsidiary families. They both saw the family on track to becoming it's own clan soon. But plans were put on hold, because just a few years later Mikazuki was pregnant. Now Ryouta had something else to focus on other than his work & sister, & it didn't help that Mikazuki disappeared not long after his son was born. With no word, nor trace, she was just gone. Her disappearance hurt him, but he refused to show it. He buried himself in his work & left his sister to take care of his son. He was an easy boy, so he didn't have to worry about his sister having to care for him in his younger years.Throughout Itachi's childhood, he was told by his father he would be his successor. Ryouta wanted to run his family different & refused to have anyone but his own kin take on after him. In truth, the boy never wanted to take over. Dreaded the day that he would have to be patriarch. He accepted it though, having too much respect for his father not to do as he wished. So, the boy decided to enjoy as much of his life before then. He had a partner in crime, the son of one of the now nakazono clan's subsidiary families, Hisashi Bakugo. If they weren't wandering around the streets of Kamurocho causing trouble, you would more than likely find the two in Itachi's father's underground casinos. Hisashi wasn't much a gambler, but Itachi was. He was good at it too, just too good. Most were convinced he would cheat, but could never find proof of it. Ryouta found him bad for business & forbade him from playing in the casinos. This didn't stop the boy; there were other places to play around town, be it safe or not. He swore he was going to die on the night of his 15th birthday; Hisashi was sick & couldn't accompany him, couldn't protect him when he pissed off the wrong people & refused to give the money back. After the first punch, he laid there with eyes closed & waited for the rest to come. But when nothing came & he opened his eyes, the attackers were already down, & the most beautiful woman he had ever seen was standing above him.He was much like a lost puppy after that, followed Kaida around town. She found him annoying & would never give him the time of day. That didn't deter him, only made him try harder. Soon he found out about an underground ring & about a young woman who fought down there who went by Kijo. It was Kaida, of course, & he decided to surprise her & cheer her on during one of her fights. They were together two years after that & Itachi swore that nothing would get better than that. Then Kaida was pregnant, & they had a beautiful baby girl. She was born just a few days after his 18th birthday & only thought her like a gift. But her first few months were hard; she was born early & sickly & had to stay at the hospital. Itachi sat with her everyday until he was finally able to bring her home. The three years he got to spend everyday with his daughter was the best time of his life. Unfortunately, good times don't always last, & he had to take over as patriarch after his father's death.

biography
Being one of the richest yakuza families in the tojo clan, the Nakazono family made a big name for themselves. Ryouta Nakazono was quick to move up in the ranks, making himself a subsidary of the Sasai family after only eight years, and a few years after that earned a chair amongst them. Lucky, was what everyone said he was, to be able to rise so high so fast. And he was good at his job, good at making money, and specialized in casino and various underground gambling areas. He wasn't much of a gambler himself, but his son was; Itachi took advantage of the many places his father owned, earning himself a gambling addiction from a very young age. Problem was, though, he was good from the start. Learned a way to cheat, swindle, trick everyone as soon as he sat himself down in that chair for the first time. Took all the customers money without trying much, and not always in a game. A fox, they called him. Some never wanted to trust him, some fell prey to his honeyed words that promised good things. It earned bad enough business to where his father later had to ban him from the clubs. That didn't stop him. Only made him move onto different places, which ended him up in a back alley with very angry men. But again, much like his father, he was lucky; saved by a girl named Kaida Kyoko before anything could happen.
It comes at no surprise these two fell inlove, and soon after had a baby a few years later. A little girl, Arisu, who didn't start off her life too lucky. Born just a few days after her father's birthday, she was one and a half months early. Smallest little thing, she was. He stayed with her everyday in the hospital until she was ready to be taken home. He refused to let go of her that day too.
Although she did not start out very lucky, the girl turned out to be a lot like her father. A fox in her own right, they said. Growing up she didn't have the most amount of friends because of this; most parents didn't like how she'd cheat their children. And she had an ungodly strength she inherited from her mother, and was never afraid to fight back when needed. But she didn't mind much. She liked to spend most of her time with her father, even had a bit of separation anxiety until she was six years old. That was more in cause of him taking over as patriarch for the family not long after her grandfather's untimely death. She was very young, didn't understand why he'd leave for long hours of the day and him telling her he couldn't bring her because it was too dangerous. Despite that, she'd still try to see him. As soon as she learned how to ask for a driver or a taxi to take her, she did so. Always was a smart girl. Because of this, he started setting aside Friday nights to be with her, go out on the town and do all of her favorite things. Didn't stop her, but she appreciated it nonetheless. And he continued to do it for years, up until the Friday before her 24th birthday. Itachi died that night, a fatal stab wound to the neck and left in an alley near the arcade on nakamichi street. He was outside having a smoke, while Arisu was inside trying to win him a stuffed animal from the claw machine.
2005 was a hard year for the girl; her mother dying early January, and her father following suit in May. It was hard to cope, nor was she able to. On the recommendation of her father's top lieutenant and oath brother, Hisashi, she took over as matriarch of the family. The family barely accepted her at first, many of them rude at the start, even the other lieutenants. But she didn't have a problem making it known that she wasn't going to stand for that. She led them with a firm fist, as well her business conducted as such. She soon found herself fitting into the persona of The Sly Fox, as her father was once known as.
